Causes and improvement measures of excessive rubber overflow in double-wall heat-shrink tube with adhesive

The heat shrinkable tube has the function of sealing and waterproof. The outer layer is composed of high-quality, soft and flame retardant crosslinked polyolefin and hot melt glue, and the inner layer is made of hot melt glue.
The outer material has the advantages of insulation, anti-corrosion, wear-resistant, etc.
The inner layer of hot melt adhesive can buffer mechanical strain and strong sealing, with low melting point, waterproof, sealing, high adhesion and other advantages.
Widely used in electronic equipment wiring waterproof, anti-leakage, wire branch sealing fixed, metal pipeline anti-corrosion protection, wire and cable repair, water pump and submersible pump wiring waterproof and other scenes.
Features of double-wall waterproof heat shrink tube:
Application range: -45℃ ~ 125℃
The initial shrinkage temperature was 70℃ and the complete shrinkage temperature was 135℃
Melting temperature of inner rubber layer: 70℃ ~ 90℃

Precautions for double-wall heat shrink tube in use:
1. The double-wall tube for the automobile wire beam to be used shall be inspected according to the product specification one by one, and shall not be used if it does not meet the specification, and shall be marked and disposed of separately;
2. The double-wall pipe used for automobile wire beam should be handled manually on site, and should be carried lightly when handling;
3. Before the pipe down, the actual diameter of the pipe in the section where the pipe deformation detection is required should be measured in advance and marked;
4. In the case of manual pipe laying, the pipe shall be transferred to the construction personnel in the trench by the ground personnel. Non-metal rope can also be used to tie both ends of the pipe body to keep the balance of the pipe body evenly placed in the trench, and it is forbidden to roll the top edge of the pipe into the groove;
5. When hoisting the lower pipe of the crane, the non-metal rope buckle should be used, and the core should not be hoisted.
Double-wall rubber heat shrink pipe also has the difference between more glue and less glue, if it is a double-wall pipe with more glue, according to the needs of the workpiece, it will allow and need to overflow more glue.
There are other situations that are not so simple.
The inner wall of the heat shrink tube contains hot melt adhesive, which will melt and fill the internal void during the heating process, so as to achieve a complete sealing and waterproof role.
Therefore, if the double-wall heat shrink tube has too much glue, it will overflow along the edge of the heat shrink tube.
What should I do if the heat shrink tube with adhesive overflows?
The rubber overflow of the heat shrink tube is inevitable, but its overflow will also bring the corresponding problems, the following is a relatively normal state, generally speaking, the performance and appearance have no impact.
In other cases, this is not necessarily the case.
In the use of double-wall heat shrink tube, on the one hand, do not adjust the heating temperature too high, resulting in increased fluidity after melting of hot melt adhesive, overflow speed is too fast.
Also strictly control the heating time should not be too long.
when the rubber shrinkable pipe is on some ring terminals, whether it is a small square ring terminal or a large square cable battery line, the front-end terminal needs to be further used as a connection head, and the round hole is the center, the surrounding circle of metal usually needs to be welded and other operations, after the rubber shrinkable tube is heated,
The hot melt glue spills too much, thus covering a part of the metal position, in this case will affect the subsequent assembly operation, so it is not possible.
So how to solve this problem?
On the one hand, for the design of the wire harness, we will consider leaving suitable examples at the joint;
On the other hand, the selection and processing of the heat shrink tube will choose the heat shrink tube with the glue amount is not particularly large, and the position should be controlled during the processing process, which should not be too far forward.
For the automobile wire harness, there will be too much glue overflow, the corresponding problems, it is more trouble in the processing process, when the glue overflow is too much, when the heat shrink pipe out of the heating equipment, it often sticks to each other, or sticks to the equipment and so on, bringing a lot of time waste, or even scrap.
In view of this situation, on the one hand is the selection problem, if you choose a larger pipe diameter heat shrink pipe seal smaller harness, then the natural outflow of glue will be a lot, so to choose the more matched size, on the one hand, excessive heating will also, heating time is too long, the internal glue will continue to flow out, will also cause too much, so appropriate control parameters.
